Space Saga Support

Here's cool freebie I found from Adamant Entertainment--the intro to their new system-generic Star System line, complete with an adventure seed locator. And if you even had to ask, yes, I am way cool with there being more system-generic space/sci-fi material out there. Nice work, and I'll look forward to checking out the rest of the line!

Systemless stuff always gets my attention much more readily than material slaved to a set of statblocks. Systemless stuff requires more careful design-work the designer (and, IMO, requires more rigorous blindtesting), but the results can be remarkable. I've seen it turn ho-hum game writers into people I'm proud to be a fan of.

Of course, I love statted material too, if it happens to be for a game I GM. But systemless gets an automatic blip on my radar, simply because - when it's done well - it gives me a chance to be impressed, instead of depressed, by a new RPG title.

Makes me feel guilty that I'm running so late with Points in Space 2, though ;)

Yeah, for me systemless is always a big selling point, but I also don't have a problem converting ideas from most supplements. I've never been a down-to-the-decimal point guy as far as conversions go--the general idea is enough for me, most of the time.

Nor does any GM, I imagine. At least, any GM bright enough to figure out how to read a d6.

Yet there is so much complaining out there...

Complaining is a gamer sub-hobby, kind of like painting miniatures, worldbuilding, designing starships, or drawing outrageous nude character sketches.

Not every gamer does all these things, but each of them is, in its own way, supported by a good FLGS :)
