Classic Traveller and the Almighty Xerox

This little bit has escaped my notice until now. Who knew that the key to unlimited power was so simple?

That's from Traveller's Supplement 1: 1001 Characters, for those wondering. Try as I might, I can't see giving my players a plot hook in CT that involves a Xerox machine and keeping my dignity as a Referee.

This character is Kirth Gerson, from the Demon Princes series of five novels by Jack Vance. Nice little easter egg! :D

Wow! I had no idea! Thanks clash--I'll never look at the xerox warrior the same way again. :D

That must have been back when xerox machines weighed a ton and had to be hauled around on starships...

If memory serves, there's also the Stainless Steel Rat, Elric and others in there too :D

@Greywulf: Yes, some I picked up on the references to. This one wasn't one of them--thank goodness for clash! :)

I've been a huge fan of Vance's since the sixties. He's my favorite SF writer, and SF is my favorite genre. I spotted Gerson immediately. :P
