Presenting The Middle Isles

It's nowhere near ready yet, but I've been working on a new campaign setting over at Obsidian Portal. The Middle Isles are my experiment of what happens when you cross a bit of Le Guin with Gygax (scary mix, I know). As you can see, I'm still in the early stages of porting over my notes, it's very raw, but it also shows a little of what you can accomplish with Obsidian Portal. I've been concentrating the last couple of days on religions, which I already had a goodly amount of notes for.

Eventually there will be maps, timelines, and illos galore, but for now, the framework is still being built. If you're on OP, feel free to favorite it and watch as I build it up. I anticipate being in Irrin for a good while yet, so I'll have plenty of time to get the Middle Isles just how I want them.

Note to self: Use cheaty 0 only d10s when rolling percentile:

00 A Vast Hidden Mithril Treasure Stash

Great stuff here. I look forward to reading more about it. I'd also be curious to hear how you like OP.

@MThomas: Obsidian Portal is great! The big problem with it for me is that it always seems like I should do and link more for the wiki. I also used to get a little frustrated at some of the Textile format until I took 10 minutes to read the guide on it. It’s very easy to create new pages, tag, and organize.

Yeah, my love of random goofy charts is on full parade there. It isn’t done yet, so any guest entries you want to do are more than welcome.

Re: the Vast Mithril Treasure Stash, it’s one thing finding it. It’s an entirely different thing to get past whatever guardians or obstacles lie in wait. ;)

Very nice start. My frustrations with OP is that there is no over-arching navigation (tree or bread crumbs). In a walk through section I put 'Back' and 'Next' links at the bottom of each page. Boy was that a bear.

Looking forward to watching it grow.

That would be a nice feature.

I’m working on my maps, but I’d like some nice ink drawing, classic-style work on it, and I’m just not that talented. Anyone wants to take a crack at it, let me know.

Thyrman made me think of Uma Thyrman. But the setting sounds really cool so far and I'm pretty stoked to see what comes out of this.

I can think of worse things to bring to mind.

Thanks for checking it out!
