MWP Listens, Slashes Price On Cortex!

Wow. Talk about results! Margaret Weis Productions just dropped the pdf price on the Cortex RPG System from $21.99 to $9.99! Here’s the comment from Christi on the post just addressing this:

We’re listening. We appreciate this blog and the comments associated with it. As a company, Margaret Weis Productions, knows we have to be responsive to you – the people that support, use, and buy the games we create. We want to hear from you and create an environment where you feel comfortable letting us know when we hit it out of the park as well as when we should change up batters. PDF pricing is both challenging and evolving based on today’s media. It’s true – we are primarily a print publisher, but we also want to be accessible and are paying closer attention to electronic publishing as a whole. And guess what? You’re right. It’s definitely time to lower the price on the PDF of our CORTEX RPG SYSTEM. As of today, right now, the PDF is officially priced at $9.99 ... in great part due to this blog. To those out there that purchased CORTEX through RPGNow/DriveThruRPG at the higher price within the last 90 days, we're taking care of you. As a company, Margaret Weis Productions wants to thank you for continuing to provide us with input and feedback. We hope you continue to do so through great blogs like this one, our own website -- www.margaretweis.com and by staying in touch with us both on Facebook and Twitter. Keep talking to us - we welcome it!

Now that’s a fast reaction! Thanks to MWP for listening, thanks to the readers for your constructive comments, and I hope this gets plenty of pdf gamers to check out this game. You want to create fans, that’s the way to do it.

Okay, my hats off to Margaret Weis Productions. Not only does it show a flexible organization, but also one that is paying attention. Most impressive.

That's great news. I respect any company's decision on pricing, but appreciate MWP's responsiveness nonetheless.

Oh man, I had quite forgotten about that.

Clearly, though, WalkerP's suggestions *on RPG company policy* should be followed to a T. :)

Everyone at MWP are all classy acts. I am pleased to call a lot of them my friends.

And $9.99 for Cortex is a steal! It has everything that Savage Worlds promised, but never gave me.

I already have the PDF from the Haiti relief bundle; but I may purchase the hardcopy now just to support a company like this!

I'll be picking up both the pdf and the print on Friday. This, plus the favorable Cortex review at RPGnet today, really helped make up my mind!

Good job MWP!

Good (and fast) move!

Got an email from them yesterday (due to ordering the Haiti Aid Bundle?) for a free PDF of their Supernatural game & coupons for two other books in that line.

Checking out the freebie, don't watch Supernatural but the rpg has potential for modern day occult/supernatural/horror gaemin.

So Kudos all around.

Wow. Colour me impressed. So impressed I just bought it.

Partly, because this kind of awesomeness needs to be rewarded, and partly because 10 bucks is pretty much my buy-it-on-whim-it-to-see-if-I-like-it price, and I'm always on the lookout for decent generic systems.

I picked it up too, pretty much for the same reasons Will Goring gave. The system looks very easy to use and to adapt to various needs. It's a little vague in some places, but still has some solid crunch to it. I'll be playtesting this soon.

Thanks MWP, & thanks Zach!
